[The Thwomps 2]

A Big Step Up

Not that the first one was bad by any means, it's just that this one was much more professional. The animation was superb as usual, as well as the sprite editing. I only found one easter egg, but it was great (move it! move it!). This (along with the other four that I have yet to discover) bumped up the interactivity from the standard 1 to an impressive 6. What I enjoyed most was your choice of including Luigi as the protagonist rather than ol' Mario. Looks like you have a decent shot at Daily Feature! I'm rootin' for you man, break that Daily 3rd streak!

PS - I'm releasing my Kirby flash pretty soon. Let's see who gets higher on the Weekly Top 20 ;)

Potential

Perfectly in sync with the song. Impeccable spriting as well. It's just that nothing really happpened besides the music. I think adding a bit of complexity would give you a truely outstanding music video. Good effort.

Good

I suppose it's a bit arrogant, but a great flash nonetheless. The voice acting was just about perfect, and the animation and graphics were well above average. Although I'm not a huge fan of your stuff, this was enjoyable. Good work.

Enjoyable

Although material like this has been done already, I still enjoy this type of flashwork. Decent ideas, some of them rather original. "The Ultimate Mixture" was easily the best. The animation could use some work, but this movie was fun nonetheless. Good work.

Average

Everything about this movie was mediocre. There wasn't anything special, but nothing was seriously wrong with it either. The graphics could use a tune-up, but that's my only major complaint. Not bad.

Hit and Miss

The graphics and animation were top-notch. However, the humor was awful. Random humor is tough to pull off, but when done correctly, it can be quite amusing. Sadly, this was not a great example of random humor, as it just left me clueless. Either way, I still enjoyed the flash, primarily because of the astounding graphics. "Falad Singers" was voiced extremely well by the way. This was acceptable, but you can do so much better.

[LoZ: Forgotten Battle]

Disappointing

For a 3.80, I thought this would have something special. Well actually, the soundtrack was superb, but that's besides the point. Your graphics were very strange, as they kept varying in beauty throughout the movie. For instance, Ganondorf was drawn perfectly, yet the columns in the castle were godawful. My guess is that you traced the characters, and didn't care much about the backgrounds, and it really took away from the film in my opinion. There were too many ugly gradients hanging around as well. Next time, just draw the shadowing, unless you're drawing metals (gradients work very well for those). However, the biggest upset was the fight scene. Stop with all of the black screens with slash marks. One or two are ok, but it detracts from the battle if there are too many. There needs to be more movement as well. When two people fight, they don't stand there and flail their arms. Have the duck, strafe, even combat roll to increase the realism, and it will make it look more painful when a character gets hit.

Still, this flash was alright. The presentation was astounding and the soundtrack was flawless. Just work on your fight scenes and even out the graphics and you'll be well on your way. Good work.

[Deadly Alliance in MK]

Great job man.

This came out really nicely. It's good to see you in the blues :] I loved the custom sprites you made, as well as the rather complex storyline. There were only a couple minor grammatical errors, such as when you used "poor" instead of "pour", but that's just a careless mistake, and I knew what you were trying to say regardless. Adding Wario in there was a creative idea, as it was cool to see him fighting with SMW sprites. The part where the boxes spelled out, "Wario you really suck!" was definitely funny, and it gave me a nice chuckle. The only major complaint I have is the fact that everything moved a bit slow. If your frame rate was on 12, you should up it to 16-24. But it could have been that the tweens were just too long. However, it still didn't take away from the flash very much. Either way, this was awesome. Congrats man!

Hey thanks Bigfoot for looking at my flash, That was a great review you did to! But Bigfoot, I'm telling ya thi smovie is at like 24 framerate and newgrounds makes it a WHOLE lot slower then my swf on the computer. The music doesn't even sync in correctly(but it is still bareable) Well anyways, come on AIM so we can chat and stuff. I'd like to show you my latest stuff which is MILES better then this one.
