As usual, the art oozes style. Always a pleasure!

Butzbo responds:

Woow thanks Bigfoot, glad you liked it! :)

Definitely a solid start. Looking forward to seeing what other mechanics are added. Hope the interface gets larger!

Dimidroll66 responds:

Thanks for the criticism, I will definitely take it into account and try to improve the game

As a man who enjoys his dividends, I must say, this was quite a good game, ol' chap.

ThePropagation responds:

Top notch, jolly good sir!

10.

Just take it, man. It's been awhile.

LilDwarf responds:

:O Indeed, it's been too long! Last time we spoke was a couple of years ago haha! I hope all is well, and I'm glad you still hang around here! Say hi to Brian for me if you ever see him. Take care buddy, stay in touch!

Top Class

This was a refreshing submission. Excellent selection of fine paintings -- I recognized "St. George and the Dragon" from an English Literature class I took last year. The riddles were generally sufficient; I felt that a few were quite witty while a minority of them were too transparent. But, that is all very subjective and certainly not enough to take away from the innovation and originality of the game.

I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the review.

Solid Game

Well, this isn't the best point-and-click shooter I've played, but it's put together pretty well.

I thought the upgrade system was fair and adequate, although the distracting "NEW ACHIEVEMENT/PERK" message was completely unnecessary (i.e. I lost a life on my first try because the pointless "whoopee you got your first kill" message popped up). In a game that tests your coordination and demands your full attention, the last thing the player needs is a distraction from the actual interface.

The graphics were obviously minimal, but they did their job. I thought the motion blurs were a bit over the top on the default setting, but then again, there were quality controls, etc. The controls were fine, which is the most important aspect of any game. I believe the excellence in that department saved this game from mediocrity.

I know I'm being critical, but I felt like this game had potential that you didn't fully exploit. Still, it was a lot of fun, and, surprisingly, it was quite a challenge as well. Good work. [4/5]

Thanks for the lengthy and informative review, I'll be sure to take these points into account if I make a sequel. Cheers!

Psychedelic, Brahh!

Really, I was about to X this thing out when all of a sudden, three more Pwong balls appeared on the screen - then five, then ten, then a billion or so. The gameplay (of the original Pong) is rather boring by today's standards, but this kept my attention for longer than I expected courtesy of the tripped-out colors/diffusions and the upbeat Popcorn remix. I believe those were the two critical assets of the game that took from being "good" to "great."

By the way, this looks it was inspired by Plasma Pong. I'm not sure if you know anything about it, but it's a free downloadable and you'd probably enjoy it.

Great Job!

JGames responds:

No I don't know plasma pong, but I searched it on youtube. Looks awesome!

Yes.

Great job on this one man. As some of the others have already pointed out, these types of games are usually poorly synced and/or have serious lag problems. Yours, for the most part, was synced perfectly, and putting it on auto-low quality was a smart idea. I love how you related a good chunk of the game to Newgrounds, with the angryfaic pick and excellent audio portal songs. The story mode was actually pretty funny :P which made me boost the overall from a 9 to a 10 :D

So, best of luck as always with the contest and anything else you have planned. It was a nice surprise seeing your name in the most recent flashes. Cheers, man!

LilDwarf responds:

Hhaaha thanks alot buddy! I didn't make it all fancy because that was what causes the lag, and I worked over 5 hours straight synching those sogs, beat by beat. I'm really happy you liked it, I told you ;) Thanks again, and I appreciate all your support.

Instant Classic

I believe this is the best game I've ever played on Newgrounds. I loved the funny little custom 8-bit sprites. They were clean and extremely professional. Hell, this looks like it should come in a cartridge for the NES. The gameplay was astounding and ultra smooth - all of the lasers flying around the screen with the addition of asteriods and humorous bloops and bleeps. Oh man, it was just so perfect. I got killed off by those three ships (I'm assuming it's a miniboss), so I'll be sure to play again sometime. Excellent, excellent stuff. Outstanding work/effort.

Cool! Im glad you liked it. We seriously worked our nutz off on this thing. I can see Gamma Bros appears to be a love it or hate it type thing. I can understand that some just dont like the simple retro style. Thanks for believing in us!

Astounding!

That was the most satsifying game I've played in a long, long time. Everything was outstanding, but how could you go wrong with such a talented group of people? It had everything I wanted in a beat-'em-up, with Adam Phillips piss as the cherry on top.

He did animate water effects for Disney, after all! ;)

Animation is great for so many reasons...whether you're looking to reconnect with your past, to express an opinion, dream, or thought, or to just make people laugh :)
