I Don't Know What to Say ...

You know, I really didn't expect a sequel, but this was surely a pleasant surprise. You have topped yourself with this one. It is easily your best flash ever! First of all, that skeleton Bowser is a badass and he was an absolute genius idea. The battle looked like it was straight from an episode of "Mario Brothers" and the ending something out of "Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom". The customs were incredible and they fit perfectly. I began to wonder if I was watching a SMB flash or a Super Smash Brothers flick. I mean, you had low kicks, high kicks, and everything inbetween kicks. Then the Toads of course were done from scratch, and they too, were flawless. I also noticed a great deal of fantastic camera work. You synced it with the music at times, which was great, and the effect you created when jumping out of warp pipes was phenomenal!

In the end, this is one of the best Mario flashes on the site. It is so polished and well crafted, and gives yet another whole new view on the old 1985 title. Psycosis, brilliant work. Let's just hope you can manage a weekly award with something like this. (You also get bonus points for putting my name in the creds)

Psycosis91 responds:

Thanks a lot for the review. The toad sprites were made very well, by a good friend of mine Velota, who managed to make all these sprites with that one toad sprite in the game. The camera work was one of the main things I tried to focus on, to see if I could make it more interesting with the way I switched from place to place.

I hope I can manage a weekly award as well, the last thing I want to be stuck with is a daily 3rd. Those evil daily 3rd's...

Also, good luck with Dumbass Luigi, I know it's going to be great.

Man ...

This wasn't nearly as good as the first. While 1a came off as possibly the greatest clock flash of all time, this seemed to sink back into mediocrity. I was hoping for more action and less tweens, but I was slightly dissappointed. It's still good, but it just doesn't have the "magic" of the first.

You've Done Better

I was a little dissappointed here, especially after watching MengoMango only a couple weeks back. You still have that great drawing ability and the animation was pretty good, but I think the story wasn't quite up to par. The clock voices didn't help either. Try harder Keicho - you're one of the best on NG when you put your heart into it.

keicho responds:

why thank you for the review and the really constructive comment. It was a little bit rushed out since I only had 2 weeks to invest 60 hours of my time into this short.

Not Bad

I was hoping for some more animation, but I guess this was alright. I liked the idea of a storybook, but again, the lack of animation really took away from your score.

StrangeClock responds:

fair enough! Happy Clock Day!

4.40?

A tad overrated. Just a tad. Either way, as far as clock flashes go, this was pretty good. Tom Fulp is a strage fellow, and that pic of him was golden. But honestly, that's the only part that really got me. The rest seemed to drag a bit. Good animation, I guess I'm just sick of clocks.

RupeeClock responds:

Well meh.

OK

I was never a fan of clock movies, but yours is one of the best I've seen. Decent animation and sound effects. I didn't really like the plot or dialogue though. It was just a bit boring, that's all. Still, not bad - it was certainly great for a clock movie.

Cid-tastic

Utter hilarity. I loved the character designs and graphics in general. Excellent plot/storyline - it was loads of fun to watch this. My favorite part had to be when the dude with the bump on his head was breathing down the neck (literally) of that poor kid playing xbox. This was a nice, fresh breath of original air that's needed desperately on NG. You da man.

Good for a Chuckle

The drawings were a bit too simplistic for my tastes, but the animation was good. It was a calm flick, and that's what bothered me the most. I mean, it was just a little boring, with nothing much really going on. Still, it was pretty good, and the voices were done nicely.

JKR responds:

Well glad you liked it okay. Yes, I'm working to make them a little less boring at times. I know my pacing can be a problem occationally. I'll keep at it.
Thanks for the review!

Another Battlefield

Stuff like this has been done thousands of times. However, you had great graphics and some good animation (especially on the explosions). The sounds were good, but in the end, it was just a bit boring.

Stylin'

A very refreshing spin on Mario parodies. I loved the sleek graphics, and just the fact that you took the time to draw out everything pleases me. In fact, you should try it more often - your art style is unique and enjoyable. Nice job with the sound effects, as they all matched perfectly and were appropriately sync'd. The humor was alright. I would prefer some more clever jokes, although smashing Toad's face in with bricks will always be funny.

3.85/5.00, A-, 90/100

Animation is great for so many reasons...whether you're looking to reconnect with your past, to express an opinion, dream, or thought, or to just make people laugh :)
