Courtin'? Here's Adieu!

"Great as Usual"

date: June 15, 2009

Wow that was a pretty clever joke. I was sitting there for a couple seconds after the movie ended until it dawned on me. It actually made me laugh out loud!

Yet, as witty and funny as the punchline was, it only served as a bonus with high regards to those outstanding animation skills of yours. The lip synch of "Gramps" in particular was impeccable. The art was also top notch, especially in the opening scene. Great work! [5/5]

Little Wheel

"Awesome"

There was so much style crammed into such a simple concept. Although the game itself was hardly a challenge, the overall craftsmanship - from the sleek graphics and 3D animation to the nifty little puzzles - was top notch. For these reasons, it almost had a Pixar-esque feel to it, which is always a good thing. The smooth jazz in the background was merely the icing on the cake, but was also a quintessential element of the game's class.

Fun and unique with a minimal learning curve - an exemplary flash game! Fantastic job. [5/5]

'Whirlpool Chicken'

"Charming"

date: June 13, 2009

I enjoyed pretty much everything about this flash.

Animation: A little choppy, a little jumpy, but you made it work. Excellent, consistent FBF animation overall - it really gave your movie an identity.

Art: Fantastic. The photoshop rendering of that fish creature was superb. While some of the drawings appeared haphazard at first glance, they always did their job - they were adequately representational of an object. There was also a fair bit of multi-level shading and highlighting throughout the movie. More importantly, these elements complemented the funny, cartoony style nicely.

Music & Sound: The music was upbeat and fitting. Good choice. The sound fx were even better, and you say you made half of them yourself? Bonus points.

Astounding work! I hope to see more. [5/5]

This was great man. I loved the old-American style animation and art. It was full of style and pizazz, and now I think I'm going to brew up some coffee :D Good work!

Kill "The Man"

"Decent"

submission: Kill "The Man"

You attempted an age-old concept that still has potential if done correctly. I saw some good things, and some bad:

+ The blood and gore was animated pretty well. I noticed some nice highlighting, and bonus points for camera lens splatter.
+ Good use of Actionscript for a scene selection.

- The art could be cleaned up quite a bit. There were plenty of raggedy lines which gave the flash an overall 'unrefined' appearance.
- The animation was choppy at parts. Raise the framerate or work on creating more 'middle frames.'

So, it was a bit of a 50/50. Keep working on smoothing out that animation and getting a feel for drawing with the mouse. Good effort for a first. [3/5]

The Cheerios Conspiracy

"Classy"

date: June 6, 2009

The minimalist art worked very well here. Great sound quality and voice acting too. The plotline evolved at a perfect tempo, and it just seemed to be one of those novelty stories that only becomes enhanced when animated in Flash.

Excellent work! [5/5]

Bedtime Story

"Fantastic"

submission: Bedtime Story
date: June 6, 2009

It's difficult to find a flaw in this flash. Excellent animation, art, storyline, and tempo. This has "classic" written all over it! Great use of shading to emphasize textures and light source(s). I got a lot of enjoyment out of watching the plot unfold, and, of course, it is always amusing to see two wizards blast their brains out with cool magic spells.

Great work/effort! [5/5]

Cheer Up Emo Kid: Perfect

"Great!"

date: June 5, 2009

You actually caught me off guard with this. I was just getting ready to sit through three minutes of shitty Simple Plan music. Then came the kicker! The animation was quite good, and the art (in black and white) represented the emo "sub"culture accordingly. Fantastic work!

Stylish and funny! [5/5]

"Awesome"

At first, I thought this was going to be a pointless platformer, but considering who the authors are, I should have known better. This was so unique and interesting. The transition from vectors to 4-bit was unexpected - at first, I thought I was seeing things! Controls/physics were just about perfect and the game ran smoothly. The end was the best. I had no idea what the heck was going on :D

Awesome Cracks Down

"One Step Forward, One Step Back"

date: May 26, 2009

Ego, the animation was fluid and lively. The extra layer of shading and highlights created the illusion that the art was popping off the screen. Ironically though, the quality of the script did not improve with the aesthetics. In fact, I found more enjoyment in the animation than the content, which is contradictory to what I expect going into one of your animations. So, it was a bit of a hit-miss, but as I said, I really appreciated the effort you put into the art.
