Greetings lads. I've been having a great time back from college, and I'm happy to report that Flash Juices are once again pumpin' through my veins. In about a week's time, I'll have to return for the Spring semester, but I thought I'd let you in on what's been on my mind, which includes a new project in-the-works.

First though, I want to thank Newgrounds for the overwhelming support of "Mario's Castle Calamity." To be quite honest, I think it has been excessively hyped and promoted - I never expected to get on the Frontpage, and I certainly didn't think that getting in the Top 50 for a couple days was a possibility (as it never should be with a sprite flash). Although, I have noticed that there are less sprite flashes pouring through the Portal these days. Maybe NG was just hungry for one? Either way, thanks again to all who watched it, especially the reviewers, who have left me some very kinds words over the past week :)

Onto the new flash. I should mention first that it will be a DRAWN flash. Spriting is a ton of fun, but I miss drawing my own characters - I miss the freedom! The premise is currently filled with holes, but I'll let you know what I have so far. The film will revolve around a hostage situation. The main character is an office worker who goes insane on account of him missing a few of his mundane office supplies (think Scotch tape, stapler, calculator, etc.). He takes four of his co-workers hostage because he suspects them of being the thieves. They are all freakin' out and trying to talk some sense into him, but he stands by his stubborn and ludicrous disposition.

My real problem with the flash is that I'm unsure whether to make it a comedy or a tragedy. Perhaps it'll be a bit of both, but I'm really in the mood to make some creepyass film. If you'd like, feel free to post a comment voicing your opinion. I'll be sure to take it into consideration.

Like I mentioned, I will be going back to college on the 18th, making it very challenging for me to speculate on a release date. It depends on how much work I can get done while I'm away from home, and until I can get some real footing, I'll continue sketching things out and planning out how to execute this flash.

As for the office guy flash, the dude goes insane right? So, he's a paranoid schizophrenic lunatic that goes on an office rampage until he gets his supplies back and then he goes back to normal as IF NOTHING EVER HAPPENED AT ALL! That would be the best thing to do, at least I think it would be.

1. I've been using "cheers mate" fo' years, but yeah my use of "chaps" seems rather like I'm a Phoney McLamepants.
2. I'll check out falling down soon, although I doubt i'll be able to work on this at paltz.
3. Yeah I've been surprised by the crazy reception. Oh and that last skit where mario gets bashed in the face while saying "IT's-a ME!" was just for you man :)

Make it whatever you think has better potential; Whichever you think you have better material for. Make the ending a twist, and have it be the opposite of the theme (ex: Take the tradgedy route, then have a comedic twist at the end or vice versa). Or don't, but either way I'm sure you'll make this a solid animation.

BTW, I got some Tostitos, but they're missing something...know where I can get summa Toad's Salsa?

A bit of both would probably be best, maybe leaning more towards tragedy with tidbits of minor comedy so that it doesn't seem overly serious but also doesn't totally lose the tragic nature of the flash.

On a separate note: You've -got- to be one of the best sprite spoofers I've ever seen, to the point that almost anything coming from you (sprite or otherwise) is bound to be amazing.

What does this mean for Kirby's Dreamland II?
I understand the freedom an artist needs, and myself, I have made a flash series in which to give myself this freedom accordingly.
Thus, I bear no grudges on your choice of project, but will you promise us to at least re-continue work on Kirby's Dreamland II before this year is up? =)

Like everyone else, I love your flashes, and love your sense of humor. However...that does make me curious about how well you'd do a serious flash. If your comedic work is that good, and you're just joking around, what kind of quality would a more dramatic flash have? To be honest, I'd be very interested to see how it would turn out if it was kept dark and serious all the way through, and that's not my genre.

Either way, I hope you're having fun in college, and I look forward to your next work, regardless of how it goes!

Man, normally tragedy and comedy dont mix, but when it comes to flash, any kind of flash, anything is a possibility. based on the storyline, I do expect a lot of comedy, but I also expect a tragic/epic ending. Hop this is some good feedback on this project.
